The Downtown Miami Charter School Will Promote:

- The belief that all children can develop as intellectual learners, function as good citizens, grow as individuals in our society, and develop as contributors to our community.

- The value of traditional classroom teachers and their ability to constructively influence our children's learning and behavioral patterns.

- The role of parents and other family members as a positive impact on our students.

- The development of good morals and useful skills in preparing our students to be functioning citizens.

- The synergy of low teacher-pupil ratio, goal-oriented curriculum, and the teaching experience of a carefully selected staff to provide consistency between our mission and our educational program.

Founded and organized by the Downtown Development Authority of Miami, the Downtown Miami Charter School will be an independent, tuition-free, public school operating under a performance contract with the School Board of Miami-Dade County.
