FACILITY

The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) strives to engage in development, redevelopment and physical improvement activities for the benefit of the Downtown environment and the maintenance of its economic stability. In seeking such a mission, the DDA introduced the first elementary charter school in downtown Miami, the Downtown Miami Charter School.

The Downtown Miami Charter School meets the educational needs of the growing population of residents and downtown businesses and provides employees and residents with the benefits associated with having a school near the home and/or workplace.

The Downtown Miami Charter School is a 43,000 square foot state-of-the-art charter school serving up to 650 students in grades K-6. The Downtown Miami Charter School offers an enhanced curriculum, small class sizes, low student-to-staff ratio, parent involvement opportunities, personalized learning plans, character building education and experience faculty.

A charter school is a publicly funded, privately managed, tuition-free public school offering an educational alternative to traditional public, private and parochial schooling.
